Nov 20-22 Reading Focus: The Giver, by Lois Lowry. Your child will be assigned a novel and required to bring it to class daily. Both in and out of class reading will be expected. Students should NOT read ahead of the assigned chapters each day. Writing Focus: Argumentative Essays DAILY LESSONS Monday: Chapter 20 & 21; RDW #1 answer ONLY 10 questions from RDWS on Chapters 1-3 Tuesday: discussion: “Governments don’t want a population capable of critical thinking; they want obedient workers, people just smart enough to run the machines and just dumb enough to passively accept their situation.”—George Carlin.
