Monday: proofreading and turning in final draft with rubric Tuesday – responding to peer essays activity Wednesday – Holocaust Book Preview and student selection Thursday & Friday – The Boy In the Stripped Pajamas (Holocaust movie to introduce our Holocaust unit theme: Conformity)

SOW – none GRoW – none This is week 3 of a 3 week research/writing project. During this project, there will be no new WoWs or SoWs. Students will be focusing on their PLTs (personal learning targets) identified in their writing throughout the year. The end outcome will be an informational essay that will count as a test grade. · Informational Compare/Contrast Essay: educate an audience on a critical issue by presenting opposing perspectives supported with factual evidence--paraphrased and directly quoted— formatted visually with the use of transitions in block or alternating format forpublication. Monday: typing the first draft Tuesday – typing the first draft/creating rubric Wednesday – in-class revising Thursday – redrafting Friday – view the documentary: Oprah and Elie Wiesel at Auschwitz RDWs due Friday · Minimum 2 page printed rough draft with revision mark-ups (counts as 3 RDWs) Due Monday, March 24: Informational Essay Final Draft WOW – none
