3rd quarter Book Talk #2: DUE March 21-28
Students are required to read two books per quarter. The book is of their choosing with parental approval. Requirements are they bring it to school daily and carry it to all of their classes. Seminar is a dedicated time for daily reading, as well as extra time in any of their other classes. They earn credit for completing a book by talking to their teacher about the book when they have finished reading it. The book must be a book they read that quarter, not previously in the year--or last year. PR Book #2 sign-up---must show the book to your teacher by FRIDAY Tuesday: WoW, SoW notes and RDW1 Wednesday: Essay topic selection and online research; RDW 2, works cited page using “son of citation” Thursday : Quiz: active voice, semicolon, passive, hence; RDW3, Read through articles & T4/outlining day 1 Friday: RDW3 continued, final note taking and outlining day 1st hour special note - you will not have ELA on Friday, so you will need to spend time outside of class to finish up Friday's activity RDWs Due Friday: Special Note - first hour will turn in their work on Monday - March 7!!! RDW 1: March 3P: reflect on your ELA progress, promise yourself something, share anything personal your teacher should know. Use and highlight into clauses, semicolons, active voice, margin, status, and hence.
